I got my 16ft whaler w/ a 30hp honda on it (vtech yo, **** kicks in). It costs 20 bucks to fill the tank and that gives me about 12 hours of 26kts. Sail boats still need a small out board to move from dock to channel/bay so thats like 3 bucks to fill that tank(gallon of gas?) and under way maybe make 15 kts on a good day.

Also my little montauck has a draft of about 1 foot where most sail boats have a draft of a few feet because of the keel. I suppose if you just like to go for a quite cruse they're fine but i'd rather go out fishing or for a quick rip.
