Default ok im a complete noob...

im a noob when it comes to turbo since i have only drove one and my dad took care of my car then... but what are the benifits of a fmic over a smic?? does it just keep the turbo running cooler so it dont over heat?? j/w

It depends on what intercooler u get, but they pretty much make the incoming air cooler (more dense). Some smic's flow better then fmic's so do some research before u get one.

pretty much thats kind of the idea. A turbo is like a hair dryer kind of the air it pushes out is really really hot. The IC cool that air so your motor doesnt take in hot air. and obviously a SMIC is not as big and effecient as a FMIC so they dont cool as well. Having to big of a IC is also not good because it increases lag time and boost lose over the area
