Default One or Two boxes?

Ok, so I just bought some brand new subs from a friend that he never used and he also gave me the boxes to go with it. Pending the two smaller boxes fit in my trunk(the GS-T spyder trunk is kinda tiny) would it be better or louder or any advantage of having the two smaller seperate boxes or putting the new subs into the existing box that fits both subs?

so one box or two?

I wouldn't see how it would make a difference. The only thing I can imagine is the mass being a lil tighter sounding on the 2 smaller boxes, cuz there's not as much room for vibration. So itd be better to get 2 smaller boxes for like techno music

it's not whether there is 1 or 2 it's the dims of the box compared to the mass that the air needs to be as loud/effective as possible. it all really depends on the subs. google them and you should find some matching box dims. btw... next time please post your post in the correct location (systems/electronics)

A sealed enclosure works best in these Spyder trunks! Because of the small amount of air space in the trunk cuz it's so small. I had a '97 Spyder GS and had two 12's in the "trunk" in a sealed enclosure and built a tunnel under the top so the sound could get into the cab of the vehicle. Amps mounted right on top of the enclosure.

I still have the enclosure which is made from 3/4 inch MDF, carpeted in gray FOR SALE. It fits perfectly in the Spyder trunk. I only want $40 for it plus shipping fees. It weighs between 50 to 56 pounds. I paid like $150 to have this custom made to fit in the trunk of my old Spyder so it fits the form of the trunk perfectly. It's just sitting in the garage and ready to go. I have pics as well so if you're serious about this give me your e-mail address and I'll send them there.

imtalkintou, what's your e-mail address cuz I'll send youthe pics of the box I have for sale that will fit in your trunk. I had it my '97 Spyder GS that I no longer own. I'm selling it cheap just to get rid of it cuz it's taking up space in the garage.

lol. that is sooo true shreff! I have a custom box in my spyder also. I went to our "big deal" audio shop here in my town and talked to them one on one and they said they COULLLDDD do 2 truck boxes that would fit in my trunk buuuut they didn't suggest it. I decided to fork out the money for a custom box and have been SOOOooooo happy with it!! 1 box ftw

Well Tidus, I am a Master Certified Sales Consultant and am an Assistant Finance Manager here at our Ford/Mercury dealership.

ilhausi2, I'm not "broke as a joke" as you say..I have a great job (see above statement)..The box is just sitting in the garage collecting dust because I don't have my Spyder anymore and I figured if I could sell it for cheap thenit would go quick. I'd rather not take it out to the burn pit and burn it to get rid of it....$40 is not **** to me, trust me! I'm not that needy or petty!
