Default Painting 2G Rims

Well, I really wanted to put black rims with a polished lip on my car BUT i ended up needing new tires asap and the funds werent there for the rims and tires. Anyway you guys think it would look good to have someplace paint the 97 gst wheels black and leave the lip OR is there someway i can get that lip polished? So it would kind of look like Gstfats old rims http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...7626/mycar.jpg my car is silver if it matters....

thats just it, i don't drive it in the winter.....I had bought a exhaust and when i went in to have it put on, when it was on the lift the rear driver tire had a slash on the inside. So i sold the exhaust and bought new rubber because 1) The tires were almost bald on the back and the fronts were getting down there, believe me it was a scary thing when i had to drive to IL in the rain 2) There was a slash in one. I didn't want to do that because i wanted some 17's but it was the only choice i had at the time. I'm watching around and if some come along that i like ill probably pick them up. If you ever want to get rid of those Enkei's Advocate let me know
As for colors i was thinking either the black with the lip, bronze, gunmetal, or all black. Would a black wheel with a bronze lip or vice versa look good

That's how I did my stock rims too. To get the lip to shine like it used to, you will have to remove the old film/clear by sanding it down. Hard grit, then lighter grit, then polish, then clear it.
I used graphite paint since Autozone didn't have gunmetal rim paint.

SOOOOO I photoshopped my car today and here is what i came up with. There is 10 pics and for the sake of those with 56K who may want to view this I will just put up the links. First five are how the car currently looks suspension and looks wise. Second set of five are just how i want the car to look someday with the drop/tint. Bear with me though, photoshop skills are not the best

Once again this would be temporary until i finished some of the other mods i want to do first. Then i would buy some aftermarket 17's
A problem i am foreseeing with this though is getting a polished lip.....the rims are just silver now. Is it even possible to achieve a polished lip then?
