do you have a website or need logo's it's my specialty, i do wonders in illustrator, and also the layout programs like inDesign and QuarkXpress, I'm learning more and more that Photoshop is good but has it's limitation when it comes to vectoring, photo retouching it a big thing along with layout slicing in image ready, hit me up if you need anything fast. and G4's are great, until you load a simple PC program that's not design for mac, it'll crash everything on the G4's, i think tiger OS comes with them as well. i work on both at my school so i know both worlds.

Right now I'm going to start with the G3 that I picked up cheap and see what it's like. I could always use some interesting ideas for logo's and graphics. I noticed that PS has some limitations and only started with Illustrator last term. Now I'm into the 3d crap and database design.

Dude why do you want a mac? The software compatability is all with Microsoft.

Sebba,
Do your research. Majority of graphics are done on Macs. The computer animated movies? Yep Macs. They've been proven better for video work all around from what I've been able to find. I've seen cmputers advertised with 1/2 the processor power and similary ram installed running things like photoshop and illustrator with ease. My PC HATES those programs with a passion. And when you go watching these videos/podcasts on Photoshop and Adobe software what do THEY use? Powerbooks or iMac's. Thus the reason I want to get a Mac. That and I'm trying to get familiar with as many OS' as I can. If I go somewhere and let's say they only have Linux installed I'd like to know what I'm doing. Or let's say they only have the Gnome workstation and not KDE... See what I'm getting at?

what os is on the g3? I've got a g3 w 512mb 40gb cd-rw/dvd with os 10.4 tiger i'd sell for 100 bux. I build and repair pcs for a living and anything you need, let me know. On ebay, go to community and type in bdhunter1355 (thats me) and check out all the **** I got for sale. If you don't see something you want, let me know what it is and I'll get the best price for ya! Also, if you are interested in a G4, I got a supplier that will hook you up for $100 shipped, but you have to load the os and **** on it. All he does is pull it off the shelf and ship it, sometimes not in working condition. But I do agree, you want to use a mac with what you are doing. Or you go with a very high end pc and run linux. Windows Vista is supposed to be very similar to the mac interface, however, i'd beta1, beta2, and cp1 tested it and it blows, I DO NOT recommend it to anyone!
