Also i made a research paper for a class about going green... so trust me, i know toyotas lineup... just chill i thought it was an interesting topic to bring out, and its getting replies so...
Not a Supra, but oddly enough I was reading a Toyota publication at work today (ah the perks of working for Toyota), and it had an article stating that the new Supra, dubbed for now the HT-FS, was given the green light for production and slated for a late entry 2009 release.
Going to be a hyrbrid at that, but capable of 0-60 in 4-5secs and still maintain a price tage of high 30's to mid 40's.
400+hp, 3.5L 24-valve DOHC V6w/ 650v electric motor and 6spd manual or CVT
I'll bring the magazine home tomorrow and scan the article for you guys.

Do you also remember when mitsu said the exact same thing almost about the 4G eclipse and look what we got? There were articles and spec of this 4G with a 201HP electric motor powering the rear and a v6 powering the front making it AWD hybrid and it had an all glass roof and some crazy style headlights and tails (the car looked very much like what we got with some tone downs is all but the motor and all the perks were shot down real quick)

But you can't expect mych out of Mitsu anymore, they're definitley a failing brand... which is a bummer.
the only thing I like about mitsu these days is they have the great warrenty (if you dont void it) and the Evo is there car IMO. I hope they do well with the ew RA lancer too but then eclipses will make there way out of the picture if that is the case because the lancer, RA, and Evo will now become the modern day GS GSt GSX in a sence.
I know toyota is alot more well off than mitsu so there is no reason for let down and they should know damn well. The supra in the past is HUGE and its history is just as deep. they have no reason to shy away from what worked. Making the Supra, a well Supra celica. even the MKIV if looked close enough shares a very close look to the cleica with the 4 eyes and it was origanally called supra celica because all it was, was a celica with more attitude from day one.

I agree with Seb, if it does make it (finaly) to production ever again, I doubt it will look much like that... or produce those specs. Im not to sure I like the idea of it being a V8 either... not that I dont like V8s... just... it makes it less Supra-ie... I guess. V6 Turbo FTW.

To be a real supra it would not have a V6 either.... No supra has ever had a v6. they are all I6.
