Im niether here nor there with them... I could go either way... the original specs called for a 3.0L turbo'd V6 w/ awd... but never came to fruition, unfort. the MIVEC thing reared its ugly head and got all the engineers thinking green... at least thats my guess.

i had no idea about the origional specs... that would have been sick nasty! i do know that the Ralliart Edition Concept was gonna be 300hp 4g63t AWD and a lot of CF accenting... the concept was good but they just didn't wanna take away from the EVO. i still think they should have released it though, that way they would have a bad *** coupe and a bad *** sedan.

well the one good thing i can see out of the new generation is that the older evo's will hold their value alot more for two reasons, 1. is the rarity. They really didnt make a whole lot of them. 2. is the fact that they are doing away will the 4g63. So right there will always be the people that swear by those engines and will pay for it.

Except that motor will be hard to find in junk yards so the parts will be more expensive since there arent a ton of them out there.. That is kinda cool though that they dont make that motor anymore

i think it's dumb... like you yourself said... if it's not broke, don't fix it. the 4g63 has stood up to the test of time and is a hell of an engine plaform!! if anything i think they should keep the 4g63 but put the 4g64 crank in the from the factory.

you never know though. This new engine could be amazing and far better than the 4g63. Who knows. I mean if companies never came out with new stuff then we might never have some of the greatest engines. Like when toyota came out with the engine in my car , probably the second best engine toyota came out with next to the 2jz . But i think its almost time for mitsubishi to come out with a new amazing engine, hopefully
