Rule for bringing up old threads
ive just been kinda using a general common sense about them. If i find that someone posted in a thread that was old where someone was asking a quesion and they were trying to answer it, obviously his post is pointless. So ive just closed the thread. But if i find a the same thing but someone asking a question that was related to the original topic: EX
original topic was someone having a starting problem....this question was answered a year or two ago
then someone doing a search finds the thread and posts in there saying they have a simialar problem but all the suggestions in the thread didnt help and they needed more input...i believe this is acceptable.
So its just a common sense rule. If i see an old thread brought up pointlessly, ill close it. Plain and simple. What do you guys think?
EDIT: oh yea and if someone does do this they are obviously new to the site and were just searching like mike has been stating, so i dont think we need to yell at them for doing it. Just explain the rules and leave it at that. We dont want to be turning people away.
