SHE'S ALIVE!!!
Well after a full year of being down and various problems creeping up on me, the 88 Conquest TSi is back on the road and making GOOD power! Hopefuly next time I get to go to the track I'll be making somewhere in the 12's. Yes I'm being conservative and the next thing to do to the car is take her to the dyno. I'll post the scan of thatwhen I finally do.
For those that don't know here's a quick run-down of what she's packin now:
G54B block
Bored .020 over
Shot peened, lightened and race prepped rods
Clevite bearings
Polished crank
Balance shaft's eliminated
Wiseco .020 over 8.0:1 forged pistons
Clearwater head casting
1MM oversized valves
5 angle valve job
port/polished
throttlebody and intake bored to 56MM (42 is stock)
mechanical lifters
100# Schnieder valve springs
ARP head studs and conn rod bolts
14G turbo
3" turbo back catless exhaust
ACT clutch
I think I covered the engine work I did. A few setbacks and an uncooperative ignition system but finally she's running much better. Though if I set the timing via the light she runs like poo... Still trying to figure that one out.
