ORIGINAL: Sanguinius

See when I was in the apartment it was a B**** to get the DSL installed and working but once it was up and running it was great. Never had trouble and always worked. Played online all the time. Now I have Cable and if I don't have exactly the right modem I can't play online. It's takin me FOREVER to find one too... I wish there was a ROM flash I could do to get my X Box to support the newer cable modems.
there is something you can get....its called wireless

We've gone over the wireless thing already. But if I get a wireless adapter doesn't the regular cable modem STILL have to be one that is compatible with the X Box or does it not matter? If that's the case then I'll run a lan cable to my router in a heartbeat... But I think the Modem itself stil has to be a compatible one.

no run a LAN cable....that should work as long as your router has multiple ports.... its just like a wired ethernet set-up...

Yes but I still have the little problem of the X Box not being able to use the modem I have. I have the newest motorola and it seems to not agree with the x box...

Oh I thought your whole comp was slow... Not just the internet... LOL. It was likely the modem needing reset.
