I was signed up for the Army out of high school, I wanted to go overseas and be in the Delta Force. I broke my wrist a week before basic and ended up going to college.

 

LOL thats how I went to college from the Army.

wanted MP but was deemed color blind, so I took one of the few jobs I could have....Chaplain's Assistant and I wasn't a religeous person at all, but there was a signing bonus for the MOS. Went to DS school until I moved to CA. After 9/11 I TRIED to get deployed to Afghanistan but they wouldn't let me since I was going through PLDC (primary leadership development course) and DSS (Drill Sergeant) school. 9/11 hit pretty close to home, I remember I was working in a hotel at the time, we stopped cooking and went to one of the rooms and watched as it all unfolded. I was still two hours outside of NYC, but a lot of our clientele were from the city and many employees had acquaintences in the towers. If any of you have seen the site in person, it was horriffic. So, I wanted to go fight for our safety like most of the others in the military. That pissed me off, so I moved to CA shortly after and moved into the ready reserve. On top of that I got screwed out of my college money. But, I would do it all over again in a second.

i'm just a military brat...my dad was in the navy he was stationed in orlando, san diego, guantanamo bay, virginia beach VA, and became a reserve in thorofare NJ...good times moving around so much...

 

But yet you won't come down to VA Beach to visit me....
