What car...
Well next monday i am goin to go look at 2 cars. A 95 Talon TSI AWD and a 95 or 96 Eclipse GS-T. The Talon is 100% stock with 106k miles. I'm not sure how many miles the eclipse has but it has a couple grand spent on the internals of the engine. But there are a few things wrong with the Eclipse.
So my question is what are some things I should look at before buying, and which would you choose based on the info so far?

Ya I know basically what they are, I'm not that great with engines or anything so we are takin it to a shop to get it checked out. The Eclipse has a different engine in it because it had crankwalk before.
Ask for a timing belt receipt for both cars, check for oil leaks. You know the normal stuff and also ask about the normal maintenance. Ask about the transfer case leak on the Talon. It should have it unless it was looked at the the seal replaced. If they don't know, you know it hasn't been checked.
I would ask more specifics about the Eclipse on why they spent a couple grand on the internals and what did they get. A couple grand may seem a lot but most of it CAN be just labor. Which can mean that they spent only a grand or so on parts. Which doesn't get you much. Which leads me to believe that there was either an overheat or under spec oil pressures. It can also be preventitive maintenance...need that cleared up.
Anyhow, here's your chance at an AWD coupe. Traction won't be an issue with the AWD. If you want a possible highway queen, go with the GS-T, although both cars can be made highway queens. The GS-T can be one sooner.

Well I don't take the highway at all really. But the Eclipse owner does all the work himself he says he doesn't trust any shop with his car alone. And ya I am leanin towards the Talon because of the AWD but its white which is the only thing I don't like about it. Which isn't anything to fuss about really. Eclipse currently overheats because he broke the fan but a new one will be put in before I look at it.

Eclipse
Well nvm that one it was on WiDSM but it just got erased today damn. I talked to him today and he said the gas door does not open from the inside but you can get it to open from the outside. There is a air/fuel gauge but its not hooked up because it would need more mods for it to have a point. No a/c. Thats all I can remember off the top of my head.
