I'm in a dilema. I've gotten pulled over three times for not having my tail lights and driving at night ( I had my cautions on though! Something's better then nothing) in two different towns and by a state trooper. The last time I got pulled the cop told me that I was driving a hazard, and if he caught me driving again at night he wouldn't be so lenient and he'd do what he could to get the thing impounded. Regardless of whether I get the lights fixed. I still want to keep the car.. I'm thinking about just buying a shell and fixing it. However.. there's obviously some electrical damage and I don't know whether its worth it for me to fix. Should I just get a new one? I don't know what to do. She's still my baby. =[

The answer is obvious... get another car.
It does'nt matter whether you love it or not, the cars wrecked and apparently insurance is not fixing it, so sell it to someone for whatevers fair and buy another car.
Put $1,200 down on something and get a parent to cosign a loan so you can start a line of credit.
Until then, you're just young, dumb, and irresponsible by driving around a wrecked car with no lights.
If you have to get a ride to work, so be it.
You're only asking for more trouble by continuing to drive that vehicle.
