alright so i didn't really know where this would belong so its in here.
when i first got my car it had a couple of problems. bastard who sold me the car didn't tell me the whole truth about the car, and i was kind of excited to be getting an eclipse, so i didn't really examine everything. my fault i know and thats a different story for a different day.
anyways one of the problem was that it had an exhaust leak. so before i even knew this forum existed i decided to throw on a cat-back exhaust: fixed the leak, sounds cool, alittle extra horses. anyways i didn't know that the GS's were slow and would cost a bunch of money to keep up with a stock GST, if i did i would have just fixed the leak without throwing a whole cat-back on there.
anyways back to my story. ever since then i have had a bunch of people rev there engines at me and trying to get me to race them. people even burn out when i pull in parking lots. it was funny at first, but know it's getting really annoying.
so now heres the second part of the story. last weekend i was meeting some friends at the local bowling ally. i seen this statey on the way there. he had someone pulled over and as i passed him he quickly shined his flashlights at my car. i thought he was going to just follow me because thats what every other cop did. but then i seen this little piggy come up real fast. got right up on my a$$. i was at a stop sign at that point and he had his Fin bright lights on so i couldn't tell if his blue light was on. so i proceed to go through the stop sign and pull in to the parking lot of the bowling ally. he foolwed me in and got out of his car. i was like "what did i do". he was like "whats the deal the the exhaust, its altered". then he started pointing out stuff about my car and as he proceed to go back to his car he said "o, by the way i like the radar detector" with sarcaism in his voice. he comes back with a ticket of $100.00 for an altered exhaust. i was like "wtf, nowhere does it say i can't have an aftermarket exhaust" he's like "idc it's alter from stock, follow the directions on the back". then he left. at the same time as all of this was happening my friends pulled up. mad embaressed and pissed off. really wtf is up with that. any other cops would have followed me and then go on his way, but this one little piggy wanted to be different and take BS action.
yeah so just letting off alittle steam.

 

you cant increase the noise level in your exhaust. There is a law for that. What state is this and what is the law code # that is on the ticket

 

Yeah he prolly just had a bad day. But if you just act like nothings wrong and just don't f*** around and you should be good. That's wut I do and it usually works, and I got a 3 inch tbe on my car

 

I do find it funny how people rev there engines and try to race GS's all the time... I had numerous times of people doing that when I had my GS.. Now that I have my GST I barely ever get any action..

 

dude that sucks. Yeah those stupid exhaust "noise" laws are completely ridiculous. I have a friend that got pulled over with an hks hi power.. just like mine and 3 of my friends have the same one. But they told him he HAD to take it off... well the hks paperwork SAYS it meets all state requirements but whatev.(he didn't take it off)Motorcycles are so much louder than anything probably any of us have.. it's gay.

 

Yea the laws will specifically state a maximum decible level of cars. Bikes are under a separate law and have a different max decible level i believe

 

i live in MASS but i dont know what the law code # is cuz i mailed the ticket before i had even came on... but i know my exhaust isn't that loud, i mean all these other civics with there exhaust are way louder than mines. w/e, but i'm def fighting the ticket though. no way that some bs altered exhaust ticket is going on my record. don't know about anybody else, but 3 tickets= suspened license

 

We run with a '76 Chev Luv and about 650hp and do not have any problems. It is a little louder than stock. Washington

 

cops will stare at my car, but they just watch for me to do something stupid. My motorcycle on the other hand, well it's a 1500cc vulcan running straight pipes, and I've haven't been pulled over yet. (knock on wood.)
