I never understood that reasoning either. If you want a new, something, buy it. Don't wait for it to crap out on you. That way you can sell it as a decent part for someone who is going back to stock to sell their car.
What would he be wasting anyway? It's the stock turbo, it's not like he bought it and doesn't feel like he's gotten his money's worth out of it, lol.
Oh well, I hope he's a better teacher than mechanic.

its not even the fact of trying to kill the turbo... he is killing his motor just as fast lol. Crankwalk is bad enough on the 2Gs forget about adding lean AFRs high EGTs and a turbo well out of its effiency range. that car must be knocking pretty good
