This morning at school, I was flipping through this month's Car & Driver....It had a preview page of future cars, and the 08 supra was one of them. However, this article was not at all what i expected it to be. The design itself resembles the 350Z, and it said it would be completely NATURALLY ASPIRATED....It even went so far to say that it was going to have the same engine as the Lexus IS and could possibly be replaced by a new V-8 engine that toyota is working on...

Damn....I was excited to hear that they were bringing them back and that they would cost in the low 30's ....but i wasnt expecting the NA part...

 

well it's expected to have like 300 hp, isn't it? that's supposed to compete with the nissan too.

 

ya i love the new styling too, i first saw it about a month ago in car and driver or something when i was waiting for firestone to finish ripping me off. i was like 'WTF??!' out loud.

 

The V8 supra thing has been tossed around for years.... And I think if it does ever come out it will be a V8 most likley (Im not a fan of that) and I think it will be well over 300HP afterall the car needs to out do its older versions and the MKIV was 320hp in the US and 278 in japan

 

yeah but if they had a v-8 in there then the lower one would have a 300hp engine. the v-8 would be alot more powerful. plus without a turbo there's not turbo lag. haha. but supras were not always turbo. the mk2 was never in turbo form. they never made a turbo mk2 im not sure about the mk1. i just hope they dont use that sc 430 v-8 in the new supra. i wold like to see something alittle bit faster. lol

i looked up a picture on google and i think it looks awesome, i dont like it as much as the old ones but at least its not that bad like the new eclipses to me

 

please post pics...i asked a toyota employee at the last KC autoshow and he siad they had no plans to bring back the supra.
