Default Outlander 2007 DiD 2.0

I'm doing my own service on this vehicle and want to change the fuel filter. I'm a novice tinkerer and thought i would need to reduce pressure in the fuel line before removing to change the filter. I removed the fuel pump fuse and ran the engine thinking it would cut out when pressure was reduced, it didn't! I've then looked for a bleed valve and can't find one.

Can anyone please advise how to do this if indeed it needs done before disconnecting the fuel pipes to change the filter?

Many thanks

Simon
