I would be careful with sponsers. They basically own your car. And there is a bunch of crap that they make you do with the car.

 

Maybe thinking too far out of the box here, but what about a trade school with a paint/automotive program? Most of those places do not have a big advertisement budget and may present a good opportunity. Before you approach anyone, I would have a "game plan" in place...what shows you will attend, how you will promote the sponsors. Basically, you need to show them a return on investment.

 

For a show car I think the engine needs to be show ready first before the paint...??

 

Well, a closed hood show isn't a very good show...it's like a topless bar where they wear pasties.
But I would absolutely have some more show with the go. I wouldn't want to do any engine work on a freshly painted bay, but a plan definately needs to be put into place before approaching anyone.

 

you need a ton more work before your car is show ready bro you might want to consider cleaning that engine bay up a **** ton and getting a better body kit on that joint peace
