im doing this for a friend of mine i wanted to see if i could help her find a better price for a motor, like the ad says she has a 2000 eclipse gs (i dont know mitsubishi engine codes), head gasket went and did the leaking thing, overheated, cracked the head or block not sure.

?Any Help?

Why dont you try to find out what exactly it needs, it may only need a new cylinder head. A head is a lot cheaper then a whole engine.

 

She has it at a shop and they told her it needs a new motor, they said they can get one for $1300, im trying to find a motor for her to purchase and have shipped to the shop to save her some $$. I'm a subaru guy and have never messed with the mistubishi scene...

I did a quick search on ebay and I saw one for $599 plus shipping. Also try LKQ they have good prices and a warranty on used engines.

 

ha i know, you are kind of right, i just dont know my way around your motors as well. But yeah i feel dumb, i dont know why i didnt look on ebay in the first place. Do you know what the engine code is for that year and model?

 

I believe the 2.4 sohc is the 4g64 engine.
