1997 Eclipse GST for Sale
 

Sadly, I'm forced to Sell my Eclipse.

I'm going to be in NY next year and need a 4wd car.

The car is in great shape but has one problem, The ECU thinks that the Air Sensor is not working properly. Mitsubishi tried installing a new air sensor, but that didn't do anything. The air sensor is working just fine, but the ECU isn't. Mitsu quoted me $1070 for parts and labor, or save money and do it yourself.

I'm selling the car for $5,500. Cheap for what the car is really worth. my loss = your gain.

New Head Gasket & Goodies/Brakes/Tires/02 Sensor within last 7 months

Recently Added: Air/Fuel Gauge and Boost Gauge on A-Pillar (air/fuel isn't hooked up to 02 sensor yet)

Ya, I'm just as sad. But i'll still always have my internet, So i'm planning on sticking around, but w/o the eclipse.
But it'll go and make someone else just as happy as I was.

OH ya, I had a new stock manifold installed. Old one was cracked.


Reason for Milage difference. When the car had 50k miles the engine and turbo had a factory defect, so Mitsu changed them out for free. I have all recipts.

Dude, that would be great! I love the car and its seriously running like **** right now because of the ECU and it breaks my heart. I want to fix it, but i don't have the money.

Have you tried cracking open the ECU and doing a continuity check on it? If you can locate the fault i think you may be able to replace the one component causing the problem... maybe just a little connection.

Ya, i thought about that, but i'm way to chicken to start fiddling with the ECU. dont' want to screw it up even more than it is. I did have it down at Mitsubishi Service and they took a look at it. Said they'd need to replace it. but you know how dealerships are. don't want to fiddle, just want more money.

If it can be fiddled with, then great for the next owner! even more money they'll save!

Well they are cheap from junk yards dude. They are also cheap from ebay!

yeah, you should get one from ebay and it works really great on mine. Only 200 bucks baby....My car feels pretty good after that ebay ECU. GOod luck

oh, i want it sooo bad, and i am in san diego!!! umm, i know i have one already, dont count on it.. but i am gonna try to take out a loan for it. dont know if my credit will allow it but this car and price is worth a shot. i can just stick my ecu in there lol... and i will have a nicer car in the process, then try to get rid of my old one!! hopefully i can get a loan!

yeah dude. get an ecu from ebay. there are only like 4 plugs on it which are all different sizes so its pretty difficult to mess anything up!

2 things guys the car I am pretty sure he told us in off topic was gone and the ECU was NOT the problem with it. we never found out what it was. I was helping PooT try to narrow it down but never got it fixed

haha, wow this topic is still open? Ya i sold the car and never found out what the problem was.
Dealership said it was the ECU. I put in two different ECUs and that did nothing.
Went and borrowed a code reader. that said the problem was with the MAF.
I put in a MAF that did nothing. I checked the Throttle, and that didn't seem like it was leaking, i replaced all pipe links, and nothing seemed to work
finally sold the car...Sad.
I want another Eclipse so bad!! ::Sigh::

i love my little truck (86 toyota pick up) but i really miss my turbo.
