RE: 06 rsx-s vs. 2g eclipse
here we go again lol we should definatly make this a sticky.
to run up to 9psi:
manifold
turbo
wastegage
intercooler
ic piping
bov
these are the absolute bare minimums... to run it SAFELY and to it's full potential you'll need:
wideband
tuning device.
When you get to this point if you still want more power you'll need to upgrade the bottom end which includes.
forged pistons
forged rods
rings
rod bearings are good to upgrade
main bearings are good to upgrade as well
if you are taking the block out of the car urethane motor mounts are good to get along with a head gasket (Cometic is good)
after this you can up the boost, you'll need:
manual or electronic boost controller
and definatly need a boost gauge with this feature
your stock clutch won't last long now so you'll need to upgrade that.
also at this point it's time to upgrade the fuel system
walbro 190 or 255 in tank fuel pump
upgraded injectors suited for the turbo you are running
some colder plugs will also help you out.
these are the bare minimums to get your car turbo'd. over 3k just to turbo and with everthing i have mentioned here it's apx 5-6k depending on where you get ur items.

RE: 06 rsx-s vs. 2g eclipse
hp ratings that you get from the factory is called "crank" or "brake" horsepower... that is how much power that the engine makes. however when you put your car on a dyno there are a lot of other factors that come into play.... your crank now has a load on it... it's gotta turn gears in the trani, axels from the trani, and the wheels/tires at the end... there is a lot of power loss there which is what we call wheel horsepower. a mustang dyno is differnt from other dynometers because it simulates the restistance of the road as well so it always gives you a lower h/p rating than a dynojet or some other dyno.

on a dyno jet i'd estimate around 180whp... its not an exact science, there are a lot of factors... wheel weight, wheel length, tire height, tire width etc etc etc it goes on and on. on a mustang dyno.. i'd say around 165-170whp.
