Hmmm. I'm not inclined to buy the story about any stock 3000GT hanging anywhere near a 450rwhp Terminator to the century mark myself. Were talking about a 200hp+ advantage at the crank in favor of the snake, plus a huge mid-range torque advantage, and no awd benefit for the 3000GT on top of it since they went from a roll.

A very good friend of mine has an extremely fast 'bolt on' MkIII Supra Turbo (runs about 380hp at the crank and just a bit more in torque) and he would tell you that racing a stock Terminator to the century mark is likely going to be very close indeed and he has almost 100hp on the Mistu in question. Unless the guy in the Cobra can't drive, wasn't racing, or wasn't actually in an 03 Cobra this just doesn't smell right.

As for all the import car ripping....get a grip. I am a blue oval loyalist to the bone and I can say without reservation that when the chips are down really fast guys typically respect other really fast guys whatever they may be driving. Last time I hung out with my buddy who owns that Supra some kid in a Malibu with what had to be the tackiest cowl induction hood on earth (5 inches or better at least), Centerline big and littles, and a '383 stroker' to qoute him asked for a little impromptu showdown, after hge managed a chuckle no less.....he promptly got beheaded for his trouble. He wasn't huckling afterword. Of course, just shy of 400lb-ft of torque from 2000rpm to 3000rpm can do that to you when put it through cheater slicks. Are there faster cars? Yes. But that poor fools '383 stroker' wasn't on the list.

Would I own a Supra? Nope..too many Fords out there I'd rather have. Do I respect his car? Only a fool wouldn't. Would I own a Mitsubishi? The Evo RS has some appeal since it is lower key than the rest and costs less too. Bit I still probably wouldn;t own one. I like what I like and that generally has a running horse on the front grille. But just like the Supra I respect what an Evo can do, just as much as I respect what an LS1 can do, or a Grand National....

Im not going to get into anything in that post OTHER than the fact that the 3kGT in that story wouldnt have had a AWD advantage, regardless... as it was an SL. I dont like Fords, but I respect this guy, and his opinion.

O well.. He has good points and I have to agree with most of it.. I like the fact he respects anything out there that has power.. You dont have to like all cars, but you do have to respect them if they have a lot of power and are fast cars..

Hes an ok ford guy in my book :D

While I agree with a lot said in this thread... it needs to die a quick painless death at the hands of some mod or something... Im sick of seeing it on the new threads every day.
