Default 99 GST (Me) vs newer VW Bug

I was with my wife on the way home on the freeway and I saw some black bug in my rear view cutting people off thinking they are in Nascar. They ended up behind me tailing off and on acting stupid so I did the right thing and tapped my brake to back them off. What made me laugh hard was that it was 2 guys in the car that looked like they were gangster racers or something. Whatever they were, it looked hella funny seeing 2 guys in a bug pretending they were in a Skyline or something.

Anyways, they ended up in front of me and we both got off on the same exit. We ended up at a red light so the guy rolls up his windows. At first i wasnt going to do anything but I decided to keep it safe and not over do it. I just wanted to humiliate them. So light goes green we take off...I hit 2nd gear for a few seconds then let off the gas at about 40 mph looking back at a ridiculous Bug over a car length behind. They catch up roll down their windows and slam on the brakes right next to me as I take a right turn. People these days. I should have just not raced them.

They had to be in the 18-22 range...seemed somewhat older. I whooped their @$$ in a 99 Eclipse GST (5-speed). But yeah those guys deserved what they got thinking their POS Bug could beat a GST.

im not defending those people that were driving like *** holes, but i will defend the bug. i do not think that bugs are P.O.S's what so ever. i have a bug in the family and it seems to never break. recently i have put some "herbie" decals on it.

Allow me to rephrase...in terms of sports car/street racer the Bug is a POS. Every other aspect its a reliable car. But tell me...if that guy continues to drive his Bug that way, will it not break down? I seriously doubt it. Any car can be broken down if abused as much as that Bug was.
