awww a 5.7L losing to my 2.0L
i'm of a similar mindset. i've always been a muscle car fan (MOPAR to be more specific, but I'll take a nice 60's chevy any day too
), wanted a V8 when i started driving but couldn't afford the insurance, so i found my first mirage. after a few months, caught the tuner bug and decided that the little I4 needed a little more kick. now i'm turbo and lovin it. point is, if you love your car and not a dick to everybody else, cool! someone else to hang with on the weekends and tinker with shiny metal objects.

I can appreciate many of your fond recollections about beating a V-8, but sometimes size does matter and different cars are built for different things. I build cars as a hobby with a friend of mine, part to full chassis and even modifying front suspensions but on mostly GM cars and trucks, like a '76 Chevy Luv that runs on the street but has run a 9.99 quarter mile and on pump gas, n/a, stretched and sectioned, and my current project a full frame and caged '72 RS/SS Camaro. They are all good if the attitude is right. I joined this forum to find more info to fix the interior of my wife's '97 GS-T Eclipse, but this is entertaining reading.

The picture name here is misleading, the picture is of the '76 Chevy Luv Engine. To See my project look up my listed home page.

if you beat that guy that bad he just can't drive. He should be low 13's or high 12's. Formulas weigh about 200 lbs less than my trans am and im running around 13-13.1 maybe even a little lower and i cant drive.
if he had just exhaust done he probably would have won but probably by just a small margin maybe a car lengths or 2. also if he was bone stock you should of only beat him buy about 3-4 car lengths (i think I spelled that wrong).
