on sunday i hit up our local boulevard and got into some pretty interesting matches. first was a honda crx that was ahead of me and gunned it. so i followed and passed him up. i think he had a cai and a open hedder. was rediculously loud. second was a honda civic that did put a fight but once i hit 2nd gear at 6200rpm that put me right back on the power band and i took him.last was a lancer oz rally with a intake and exhaust the sad thing was that he was pissed cause he couldnt shake me with my speakerboxx in and me and one other person

 

A DSM is NEVER good news for a Honda.

When ya'll talk about Hondas I hope you mean Civics mostly. Yeah Civics are played out and don't come from the factory ready to rock, but with some mods, they can go. Preludes are my Honda of choice, and stock 5th gens are quite capable of holding their own. Preludes aren't the fastest car, but they're nice and in stock form can put up a fight.

 

oh yes, i will agree to that, ive lost to hondas a couple of times, only once to a civic though, and it had a frankenstien motor............

 

I think Honda has a bad name b/c too many kids with Civics watched too much Fast and the Furious and played too much Need for Speed Underground. They slap on a body kit(not caring whether or not it's the same color as the car,) and an exhaust tip from Wal-Mart, and think they are untouchable. Not everybody with a Civic is a ricer though. Some Civics are fast, and yeah, they have motor swaps....but Civics can have a wide variety of motors dropped into them, they're versatile. I don't mind Honda bashing on forums cause I see it everywhere, it's just people's opinions, I just don't want ya'll to think all Honda guys are jerks with slow cars.

 

Most Hondas are slow they only try to get people to buy them because, of the vtec engine, they aren't even that fast and you can't mod them with out spending a ton of money
