Default Civic vs Gs-T

Ya, one would assume the title says it all. Gs-T all the way. But I'm not 100% sure now.
A guy i know has a Civic 2 door with a B20 swap claiming he has 210 horsepower. I'm not sure what he has under the hood.

He's saying that he'll whip me because he's got 210 horses and weighs a lot less. But wouldn't that be a disadvantage? Weighing so little with too much horsepower = wheels spinning? I dono. I just want to know what you guys think before i actually offer to race him. Think it'll be a close race? I'm kill him? He'll kill me?

Here's the thing I don't understand though. He states that he has 210 HP but when doing a little research the most HP i could find in a B20 motor (B20A, B20b, etc) was around 170ish hp. Where is the other 40 comming from? The only thing that I can think of is it's turboed. ::Shrugs:: I'm gonna have to ask.

the 210HP motor is the K20a I think from the RSX S and the SI hatch. which is only running those cars into the 14.5 range. some modded rsx s with full exhuast header and all intake and hondata tuning run 13.9s so it is still not very fast. I think it should be close but I also think you should win. your car is 210HP stock and you have exhaust and intake?? any other mods for you?

TheEngineers Talon AWD TSi kept dead even with my EVO he had catback ehaust intake BOV upper IC pipe and 15PSI and my EVO was bone stock and that runs about a 14.0.

I'm pretty sure i can beat him. I've got exhaust, BOV, Larger ICP, Intake, and i removed the Wastgate Selenoid Thingy so i'm running 1-2 psi more than stock which is 10-12 right? He def doesn't have the K20. I was reading his myspace and he specifically said B20 So i'm not sure how much horses he's actually running. I'm gonna find out though.

Oh, and by the way, I took off that mitsu emblem like you said, and yes, it does look a whole lot better.

Honda CR-V Specifications (1999 model)
Dimensions

Engine

2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder
Horsepower:
146 HP
Torque:
133 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm

HERE are the specs for a 1999 honda crv w/a B20.I knew it was not 170 hp for the B20,i knew it was in the 140 range.Even if it does have the work done as stated that not going to put it anywhere near 210 hp.Figure the 99-00 civic si coupe has 160 stock, and is good for 15.7-16.0 1/4 mile.I think its going to be a pretty easy kill for you.good luck man

99-00 civics are a little faster than that. My V6 3G got walked by one pretty bad and I was more modded than him

Yes and the Spyder stock is like 15.6ish and I had CAI and Invidia Catback he had only intake and the thing pulled at least 2 cars on me within a 50-80 MPH race. I read somewhere they run high 14s very easily and I have seen some RSXs hit high 13s on bolt ons
