Couple o' kills.
Monday was my b-day, so for a treat to me I decided to drive the GST to work, despite Premium being 3.75/gal that day. As I was sitting at a stop sign to turn onto a major highway, a guy on a blue motorcycle goes by and revs at me. I take off, not too hard since my 1st gear synchros are shot, and then get on the gas. I hit second quickly, catch up, and pass shortly after I shift to 3rd. By now we're doing about 85-90 as I shift to 4th. I'm up around 110-120 when I let off, because the road ahead is absolutely shredded. I dodge giant potholes at around 60-65, and he vanished into my blind spot. When we hit clear road, he zips by and gets off the centerline he was riding, and I just keep up but don't pass on the double yellow with a stop less than a mile away.
Next day, I'm cruising through town and this twit in a custom-orange 2-door Ford Escort Zx2 with AutoZone chrome 'fender vents' and the chrome Porsche-style "Turbo" badge on the back, in addition to a set of 18s and a fart-can comes up behind me in the other lane at a stoplight. I take off, nice and calm around the corner, and he decides to blow by me and my friend (who's in a beaten down Camaro), so I take off after. I'm don't bother to floor it, and I shif nice and relaxedly(sp?). I catch him in 3rd at about 65, shift to 4th to let him hear my BOV, and then zoom past before slowing down after he gives up.
All in all 2 days and 2 fun races, though the motorcycle guy was a nutcase, because a car was coming in the other lane through the rough spot when he rode the center line.
