need a lil help please
just really a qq .... i bought a 2003 eclipse gt about 6 months ago and have about 20k miles on it..... now my question is how fast are these cars suppose to run the only thing i have done to it so far is i have a weapon r intake with ram air and also i have taken the 2 resignators out plus about 15 led lights in the car..... i have herd that it should run mid to high 15.00 normally but i can not get mine below 16.5 is there something wrong with the car..... it might be me but i dont think it is i always get at least a .100 light and it is an automatic with sport-tronic shifter but basiclly the only thing i need to do is hold the pedel down ....
also another thing i would like to know is there anything i can do to my car that it fairly inexpensive that would help performance out (funding kinda low a.t.m.) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thankyou for your time.....

RE: need a lil help please
that is weird..
try new plugs and wires(not much hp, but its cheap)
bigger injectors/header/exhaust all about the same price.. depending
bigger throttle body will help, or at least an extension
and if all else fails
....put a bunch of stickers on it, it seems to help all of the civics! lol

also, maybe you are thinkin the gts, cause unless Im mistaken, the gt isn't THAT quick... my specV sits stock at 175 hp and like 180tq, and if you are a good driver, you can stay in the 15's, and I have handed it to a lot of 3rd gen eclipses, but I may be thinkin of the gs (Im not very informed on the 3rd gens) sorry

RE: need a lil help please
its a n/a engine... you have to work with it to make extra ponies. and no goofy name parts will help you in this one... unless you are plannin on going turbo, try getting a air/fuel management system. Loose all restrictions on the exhaust. If you have time and money... Different internals... spend some time tuning the car... then she will run...

RE: need a lil help please
The auto's not just heavier but it's also going to be inherently slower cause the auto that's in there is made for daily driving not racing. You loose a lot with the stock torque converter. The shifter you have isn't really helpful either, I'd just keep it in full auto at the track unless you have a particular spot in each gear you like to shift.
