torching a ricer
I have a thing where i really hate people who try to make their cars look fast but really cant back it up. Just the other day i pulled up to a light next to a Civic EX, with a ridiculous body kit an a massive exaust kit. Im pretty sure the only other thing he had was an intake. So I'm sitting there in my 03 Galant (current mods are lightweight rims, high performance tires and a CAI), and i rev at him. He gave me this look like he was kinda insulted to be revved at by a sedan. Anyway, the light went green, and he got a slight jump on me, probably due to the fact that he was lighter. At 5000 rpm I shoved my car into 2nd and went full throttle, easily catching up to him and blowing past. At the next light he pulled up next to me, and started yelling something about "cheating", so whatever. I guess his cheap body kit didnt give him the massive horsepower he expected.
hey, i loved your story, im sorry to say that im one of those people but i kinda had no choice. see i bought my eclipse in may, and had somebody run into me june, so i went ahead and put a body kit on it, and am currently lookin at gettin my exhaust next, so... can't judge a book by its cover. lol
im not saying i hate all ricers. i just hope that they all have ambitions of one day making their rides fast, instead of trying to LOOK fast. i personally try to go with the "sleeper" look. my rims and high performance tires are the only things that give it away. I dont really mind an eclipse with a body kit anyway, i think they look pretty cool. what i really hate are those Civic DX models with like 1/4 inch ground clearance. The thing has an economy engine. at least your eclipse packs a decent ammount of power.

Sleeper look all the way! The only exterior mod I ever put on any of my cars was replacing the VR-4 stock spoiler with an after market one(for increased down force)

You know what they say...All Show, No Go....i prefere to even out looks with performance....first ill put in a cai, then I'll put on some new rims, new exhaust, new body kit.....gotta even out the look, with the performance.

well again the only reason i did the body before the perfomance was because it was wrecked and it would be chaper to just buy the kit now then buy stock stuff now and then buy the kit, it's twice the price i need to spend, but make no mistake i have 1 more exterior look mod then it's ALL engine for a long time, im gettin a set of lambo doors, then it's saving time for my exhaust, turbo, new radiator, alternator, pulley, fuel filter, you know the drill... question though, does anybody have like a timeline of mods that you should do? like should you go for a turbo first? or should you replace the internals of the engine first?? etc. let me know, im still kinda new at this lol

I (if I had the $$) would spend all my money on horsepower and not on bling. I prefer the sleeper look. But hey we're all different.
