lowering springs only?
can i just install lowering springs only or do i have to buy coilover, new struts, etc...cuz i'm confuse with this person's comment on the bottom.
With lowering there is two ways that you can go. You could buy some lowering springs and then a good set of shocks and struts, otherwise the stock ones will die quickly and youll have a bad ride
he says the stock one will die quickly...does he mean the stock shocks and struts too or just the stock springs?

Springs - new shocks (remember how old your stock shocks are) - and that's it......for a budget buy.
That's if you really want a better or new feeling suspension.
Can you get away with the old stock shocks...yes, but as stated, it will wear out fast (if it's not already worn out) because the shock rod will have less travel. Aftermarket lowering springs...common sense right?
Since you will be removing your stock springs..they won't have any relevance.
That should answer your question. Here's more info but it is only food for thought.
Lowering springs are different than a coilover system or kit. Lowering springs are just that...stock replacement springs that offer a lower ride height. They also provide close to a stock ride...the feel of it.
A really simple thing.
A coilover system or kit is an adjustable spring system that allows you to lower the spring perch up or down. This system calls for an adjustable shock however or it too will cause a non-adjustable shock to die quickly from a lot of strain on it.
These are not as simple as putting them on and calling it a day. You still have to lower each corner the same or the load balance, or lack thereof, will throw off the vehicles cornering ability. The ride is also much stiffer since the springs are shorter...thus needing to be stiffer so that your car car won't bottom out. As noted, there are two types of these too. A system which has the threaded sleeve imbedded onto the tube already and the kit which is slid over the shock tube. The latter is the hardest to match up with shocks for a "good" ride. Both will "drop" or "slam" your car down though.
You sound "new" to me, so I recommend lowering springs to you.

Ok, that's about as Layman as I can get, lol.
