Exhaust in cabin outlander 2.2 D I D
Thanks for the reply.
I think I have the 4N14 engine after a quick look.
I assume it's best to get this done at a main Mitsubishi dealer to make sure the updated part is used?
I'm UK based, Mitsubishi have pulled out of the UK with car sales but parts are still good.

hi,
has anyone tried using any of the epoxy repair stuff on one of these cracks in the manifold?
Not got time to remove it at the moment.
Alternatively Has anyone used a mig welder to weld up the crack and strengthen the joint?
thanks

Hi everyone,
Looking for some help on this exhaust manifold problem.
I've just bought a 2014 GX5 Outlander Diesel, in the UK, and it has a cracked manifold and is leaking fumes into the cabin.
The dealer I bought it from is replacing the manifold, but only willing to pay for a used part as Mitsubishi want around £1,000 for the new one.
We're trying to figure out the part number for the old (badly designed) manifold vs. the new manifold in the hope of getting the new design.
Does anyone happen to know the part number for the new improved exhaust manifold that is less prone to cracking?
Thanks!

No guarantees, but seems to be the newer version and you should be able to find it for a little less than £1,000.
Sadly I suspect I'll be in the market for one too.
Have a browse through these:

Price in Japan is around 215€. But need to add shipping + taxes and lot of extra bolts and expensive gaskets.
So the final price of all the gaskets, bolts, nuts, and parts could be like 360€ (including private shipping like Fedex) + local import fees.
Note: some users say that even the new manifold part can fail at some point. Not sure if this is confirmed. But the recommendation is to fix the current exhaust manifold properly and never look back. Here I'm going for the new part number because I'd like to do a hot swap some weekend at home. I'll keep the old manifold just in case I need to weld it.
