My son's 95 Mirage S (1.5L) will run fine for several minutes on the highway, then it will start sputtering badly, lose power, and if you stop will die and be hard starting back up. If left alone for just a few minutes it will start running normally again for a little while.
Any idea where I should start looking?

I have a similar issue with my Mirage LS 95 4G93, it runs fine for about 30 min, but suddendly, when i try to accelerate, it lose power, equal as when you run out of gas...!! I disconnected the 2 oxygen sensors on my car, and run it for couple of days, it ran well, but yesterday it failed again... i`m trying to find out the oxygen sensors because i guess that it has the originals ones! but i`m not sure what sensors fits because i`m not sure if my car uses "California ESV" (still don`t know what is it?? anyone knows ??), and also,will try to replace the fuel pump, have heard that this kind of issues comes from fuel, for overheating on fuel pump!

Anyone knows about this kind of issues???

 

Found out it was a bad distributor, running fine now
