Potential Newbie wanting some opinions....
Hi there...this is my first post. This site is a great resource as I've been looking around at buying a 03-06 Monty. I currently have an 05 Dakota quad cab but with a baby on the way, am looking to go for a SUV. Good thing about this is that I'm used to crappy MPG...best I've ever gotten on the highway was 17.5 with my Dakota.
I've run across an '03 Limited with 130K and though I haven't seen it yet in person, it appears to be in great shape in and out. One thing I've noticed with higher mileage interiors is leather wear, but this truck looks clean.
Asking price is $4800 but here is the catch. Timing belt, cams, and water pump were just done recently by a dealer so that is obviously in the pros section. Here are the cons...A/C doesn't work, Needs O2 sensor, and rear springs need to be replaced (don't know why this is but am interested in OME lift so might be a perfect time to do it). It also has a power steering fluid leak, needs rotors and pads.
So with all that, I'd love to hear your opinions on the price. I am capable of doing much of this work on my own, but wondering if you think this is one to leave alone.

if youre happy with it and comfortable doing the work, then all good.
Pretty much everything on a car apart from the block is consumable, so all of those things come under routine maintenance.
Be happy that theyve done most of the expensive stuff
