CVT Transmission problem
#21
Always use the correct Mitsubishi Fluid..pretty simple..even easier...do it at the Dealer...ask them what they use...If it's not Mitsu fluid...find one that does...
I've dealt with 4 Dealers here in the Toronto area..they all use the specified fluid from Mitsubishi. If they do the service..they have the records and if something goes wrong it's on them.
Best of Luck

I have a 2009 outlander LS 2.4 CVT transmission. It started having CVT transmission issues after 130,000km ...it costs me $6000 to fixt it
CVT transmission is very weak and won't last compare to the normal automatic transmission.

Same issue
My 08 Outlander,2.4 cvt is doing the same thing. I noticed tranny issues after 1st fluid change.Problem is worst on cruise control. The rpm will jump up then back down causing a jerking sensation in the vechicle.I have noticed that when this problem happens in normal mode and I move shifter over to sport mode(cruise set), the problem goes away.Iam leaning towards a faulty module but have no info on all the tcm modules

You could have avoided your cvt problems by changing the fluid on a timely basis. Most people who have this issue neglect the maintenance.CVT's are not the same as conventional transmissions and The Jatco requires frequent fluid changes.Hopefully the newer models don't.
