Outlander Sport audio question

Outlander Sport audio question
Hey guys, new member here, and my first post. My gf has an 2011 Outlander Sport and I just bought a 2012 Outlander myself. Instant Mitsu family.
The Sport/RVR does NOT have the RF system, just the base 6-speaker system. I have a sub/amp out of my old car which I'd like to throw in the Sport for her. What's the best way to get an audio signal for the sub? If I go the LOC route and pull signal from one of the rear speakers, I'm assuming it will be missing the bass frequencies? Is my only option to do that, plus go with one of these "Digital Bass Reconstruction Processor" things?
I'll be doing some stereo work on my Outtie (which does have the RF system) so I'm sure I'll be making some more posts in the near future!

you can get the signal from one of the rear speakers, that is how i did my wifes car, you can get a converter box, super easy, solder it up and your done
if you need pics let me know, i can snap some after we are done painting her car

Thanks man. I have used a LOC box before in another car. Is that all you did? There is enough bass coming to the rear speakers to feed into the amp for the sub? I guess I'll try it that way, then if the bass is lacking I could look into one of these digital bass processor things.

A simple LOC would work. You could also take a look at the Rockford Fosgate PEQU a well.
Rockford Fosgate Amplifier Accessories: remote controls, bdSYNC cables. Car Audio for Fanatics. - RFPEQU - Rockford Fosgate®
It converts high-level signal to low-level signal, it's also a line driver (boosts output Voltage, lower noise floor), also has remote DC offset turn on capability (no need to run a remote turn on wire from under the dash) that will turn on/off your amplifier, it also has a remote EQ **** with up to +18dB boost @ 45Hz and/or up to +12dB boost at 12.5kHz. Pretty cool piece for adding a little something extra to a factory system.

Awesome, thanks for the advice guys. I ordered a standard LOC and will try to get this set up for her soon. She's going to be jealous if I install the two Alpine Type Rs installed in my Outlander before she gets anything.

Hey, where did you tap in the LOC? I wasn't thinking about the fact that the rear speakers are actually in the rear doors.
