I am about to put in a sub and amp on my 09 Lancer as soon as I can get the AMP. lol

I have a friend that used to install car audio from circuit city. He said that you can connect the audio cables directly from the rear speakers to the amp if you are going to be using the stock radio. Instead of running cables all the way from the dash.

Hope this was somewhat helpful.

you would need to install a line out converter in the dash behind the stereo(since the speakers are in the doors its the only place to put one)

Not true. I just wired my amp the other day using the factory stereo. I used some red tap-ins to split the single from the rear speakers directly to the amp. Then I got some gold-plated phono plugs and soldered them to the other end of the audio wire going to the amp. This way there is no need to open the dash at all, and you can clamp the tap-ins anywhere on the audio wire so the only real reason you would need to pop open the door is to make sure you got the right color wires.

Then what I did for the power on wire is wrap it around one of the prongs on the cigarette lighter fuse which is found under the driver side dash. My amp works perfectly like this and I have not had a problem with it.

the problem with doing it that eay is that with out a line out converter you can only get high level output to the amp. I'm not saying it won't work I'm merely saying that its not the best way and you can tap into the ignition switched power to the stereo for the remote line. As a licensed installer that is how I would do it.
