Default 1.8 turbo?

Seen a rust bucket Talon with a " 1.8t " badge on the rear. Looks just like the emblem on a Volkswaggon Jetta 1.8T. Did DSM ever build a 1.8 turbo motor? I would not think so since the 4G63T is so fast. This got me to tnking though, has anyone accually seen or have turbo'd a 1.8 motor? I have 3 turbo's sitting around here, and got on the sts turbo website and seen how they hooked up thers. ( ststurbo.com ) This is a whole lot like how I turbo'd an F-150, but that was long before STS was on the internet.1Thing I would need to know to make it work is:There is NO WAY the stock injectors are going to push enough fuel for the turbo set up. Will 4G63T injectors work in a 1.8 motor? Other than the injectors, I can have the computer re-programed to compensate for the rest. Now keep in mind here, I am talking 4-6 psi boost and maybe 150 hp. Still enough that a stock FordASSPHFIRE will quit out-running me!!!!!! ( or escourt's, or geo's, or yugos. ) I swear, this HAS to be the SLOWEST dang car I have EVER owned!!!!

no DSM didnt make a 1.8 turbo, not for the eclipse anyways. This person you saw might have just swapped a jetta 1.8t in and got the emblem made at a design shop

My neighbor had a '90 5 speed Spyder with the Turbo. I think someone stuck the motor in there with a shoehorn. The timing belt went and I fixed it, but I had to use the number off the belt to get the correct one. NOTHING stock would work and the turbo was in the way of the casting numbers. It was originally a Mexico car that her Ex brought when he moved here.
After spending almost $500 fixing the drivetrain (replaced all 4 axles) and getting it past emissions, it failed safety inspection and she got mad and scrapped it (junk driver ripped her off. Said he'd give her $500 on the phone then screwed her down to $100 because "the exhaust wasn't OEM" #^@%$#* !)

well, it said Spyder on the back. I know the motor was shoehorned in. There were hammer marks on the firewall to clear space for the turbo. It had 2 timing belts

No such vehicle, and these cars have one timing belt.

Both of your posts are confusing.

The neighbor is retarded by the sounds of things.
