im looking for a 4g63 engine for my 93 eclipse which had/has the 4g63 engine but is blown i found a motor but this guy claims it wont work in my 93 cause the car it came out of is a 91/92 talon anyhow... this is what he said.

The Talon I have is a 92. The way I understand things, if it was built after April of 92, it would work in your 93 Eclipse. Unfortunately, the production date on this car was Aug 91. I serious doubt the engine would work for you.

It is a 4g63, but made before April of 92. Some changed after April. They "Might" not work. You can come see it and decide for yourself.

It'll work 1g 6 and 7 bolt engines are pertty much the same.

 

well the motor that was in mine was once replaced before i bought it and it had labeled on the top TALON on the valve cover.

one more thing will my tranny for sure bolt to the 6 or 7 bolt?

 

The trans will bolt up fine.

 

you will just need a new flywheel see the FAQ section for the 6 bolt swap details. Definetly worth it to go with the 91 motor if you can
