Default 94 Eclipse running on 3 cylinders: Possible causes?

Hi guys. About a two months ago I had driven my car pretty far on E (not sure if this has anything to do with my current problem but I figuered I'd include all the details). A few minutes after I filled up all of a sudden the rps dropped and it felt like my car wanted to stall. The acceleration was almost non-existent but I was able to make it home from where it happened (about 10 minutes from my house). To check it out, someone was giving my car a bit of gas while I unplugged the spark plugs, while doing this one of them caused a spike in rpms. I played with the wires a bit and the car went back to normal. Now about a month later, the same thing occurred and was able to fix again. Last week it happened again, but this time it seems unfixable. Am not getting any spark to the plug. I'm not very good with cars so I'm not sure what the problem is or what to think about. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen before or any possible causes for this? Thanks in advance for any information. Also my car is a 1994 Turbo FWD.

It sounds like it is time to change your wires. If you are for sure getting spark to the other 3, steal the wire from one of those and see if you get spark from your problem cylinder. If it works, get a new set of wires. It sounds like the reason your temporary fix worked was because you were temporarily re-joining the wire to the connector but eventually it burned due to an arc from the high voltage. This is only the first thing that comes to my mind.

Another thought. Make sure you are getting fire to three cylinders and not just two if the wire thing does not fix your problem. On your eclipse I believe you have two coil packs that power two cylinders each, If you are not getting spark to two of the cylinders, it is probably one those to blame. Just a backup diagnosis. Good luck
