cold idle 2500-3000 RPM?
why in the HELL does this car idle so damn high when its cold, good god, idles 900 RPM or so warmed up, but cold the first 5 minutes its annoyingly high at almost 3000, it will start to drop down some to about 2,000 after a minute, as soon as the car moves, no clutch pedal movement or throttle never touched, if it gets any kind of signal from the VSS it jumps right back up to 2500 or higher, no vaccum leaks, nothing, ive been over it all, do they all idle that damn high or is my car just retarded, im close to disconnecting the IAC and setting a base idle myself and leaving it[:@]
it also seems to wanna rev higher when i shift like the IACis all the way open and stays there while the car is moving, coming to a stop it will be about 2,000 r'sas soon as it quits moving it drops to 900-1000

RE: cold idle 2500-3000 RPM?
where do you live at? during the colder months, even warmer months when the engine is cold, when you first start it up it will idle high for a few minutes untill it warms up, and the idle will drop back down to 7-900. it is completely normal, you are supposed to let your car warm up anyway before you start drivin it.. easy solution, start up your car about 5 minutes before you drive it

i do let it warm up always before i drive it, im really picky on that. i know they should idle up higher when cold but 3,000 rpm seems like overkill to me.
this car is just acting stupid now, i think my fuel pump is takin a crap

it's the choke idle, it warms up the engine, and in older cars with carbs it makes sure there's good enough gas flow in the engine. and for turbo's you should let it warm up to normal before pushing past 5.5 grand, makes the engine life longer.

i never drive on a cold motor, i just think its high - now the hot idle is 1500 and wont drop below, and the turbo sounds like its screamin but only boosting 10 psi, i'd say i have a leak somewhere now[&:]
and its extermely rich under boost and fuel cut is lower in psi than before

i live in ohio where its been colder in the 30's -40's lately, but its kept in the garage , it hasnt been below 65 in there and i still get a 3k rpm cold idle, even on a 70 degree day it does it
i have to check it for leaks now since the boost is chaning randomly, it will be 10 psi if i turn it down , the turbo dont sound like much, it runs decent, i turn the controller up, turbo screams, makes more power, still says 10 psi, on 2 seperate autometer guages - im getting fuel cut at 15 psi now so obviously i have a wasted gasket cuz ive been through the plumbing up to the TB
