ok welli have yet another question. is the dowel pin on the crankshaft the timing mark?? im trying to see if i have it in time correctly...i know it started but im thinking it may have jumped a tooth or so.

if it's only 1 tooth off, it will still run. The timing mark is an actual mark on the crank pulley with another small mark on the actual block to line them up at. You say you fournd a small leak on one of the O'Rings... did you check the others? they are only about 10 for a dollar so you might as well replace them all....

That is highly possible, however, if it didnt start before you un-hooked everything, and then started when you did, only to not work again once you re-connected everything, the chances that it just jumped a tooth are slim. I would deffinataly check your timing. But dont rule out any electrical gremlins.
Also, Im not sure about the clipse, but alot of motors wont run with the periphrials connected if the grounds are connected im-properly. Check all those too.
