Default engine oil

im new to the car world and i just got my 91 eclipse. I had my brother do the tune up on the car before i began driving it. he noticed the oil pan gasket was leaking and that the previous owner had stripped out the oil plug. he advised me to change it, and im planning on it but i havent had the time/moneyt to do so, but now there is oil all over my engine and hood where it shouldnt be
if anyone knows what this problem could possibly be can you please help me out,

Oil all over the hood and engine is usually cause by a missing filler cap.... whatever it is should be VERY obvious to be able to splatter on the hood. Have you done a thorough inspection?

Also could possibly be the PCV valve. But yeah if it's splattered in an area startt he engine and look for the gushing splattering oil.
