Default help

I have recently purchased a 92 eclipse gs for 300.00. The car runs and the body is in decent shape but my problem is that from a dead stop the car is very slow. It does fine once you get above 20 mph. I cant stop on a hill because it is hard to get up to speed and i also cant jump out in traffic. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

does the engine sound fine at the lower speeds? Is this a manual or auto? does the car buck at all at the lower speeds. Or is it just slow. Also what engine do you have the 2.0L or 1.8L

my engine is the 1.8. and i have driven a gs eclipse before. It is abnormally slow from the start. Is has decent poweronce up above 20 mph. If i come to a stop on a hill it just inches forward until it gets up to speed. Also it is an auto. It does not buck but if i have to make a right turn into traffic i am in trouble.

Could be just the fact you have a 1.8, I had onebefore and it was slow as ***** lol.

Just make sure eveything is ok like plugs, wires and filters. Also check the ignition timing, its thats off the car will move real slow.

like DSM said, he just got to it before me.. my 1.8 did the same exact thing, very slow at start, and slightly faster but still slow at higher speeds, and i took it apart and put it in time and it ran fine.. these cars arent THAT bad from the start... also check your plugs and wires and filters as he said, im betting on timing though
