Default Newbie with an engine swap question

Can you directly swap out a 2.0L for a 1.8L?

I have a 93 with a 1.8L. Friday morning during a really heavy wind storm the big maple tree in the back yard decided to break it's fall with my eclipse. I thought about buying another eclipse with a bad motor and found a 92 with a clean body but it has a blown 2.0 non turbo in it.

What I need to know is if I buy this 92 2.0L will the 1.8L I have in the 93 be a direct swap?

Thanks

Yeah as long as you use the same brackets and mounts for that engine. Well at the least for the front mount. If I remember correctly both shouldn't be the pop-up headlights and if they are both FWD, swap the exhaust too. So if you are putting the 1.8L in the 93, use the 1.8L exhaust in there too and vise versa. Swap out the wiring harnesses and the ECU's too. 1.8L and 2.0L have different ECU's and harnesses. Other than that you should really be fine. While you're at it, might as well replaces the hoses for most of the stuff. If you part the one out, let me know because I still need minor stuff for mine. I hope this helped and good luck and sorry to hear about the car.
