no compression help me
i have a 90 gsx awd and i blew a head gasket, it didnt over heat but it shut down right before. i let it sit for a while and drove it about 10 miles home. i took the head off and there was water in all cylinders (mind you i had a gaping hole in one of my heater hoses) the water was sitting there so i was thinking that there wouldnt be a problem with my rings. so i change the head gasket and checked the head no cracks that i could tell i ran a level across it no warpage that i could tell. but now i have no compression... i get a backfire every once in a while but i get nothing i timed it damn near perfect. and ive been losing my mind for weeks now. any suggestions? i reused the head studs could that be the problem...
if they were stock head studs, they are torque-to-yeild, which means they stretch when they are used (one-time use) idk for sure if thats your problem or not, but you definitely need to get some new ones
yea you definitely can not use the original head studs like he said because they are made for a one time use deal... so pull it all back apart and replace 'em with arp head studs and put it all back together and see if that fixes your problem
