Unless he buys a crate engine then I doubt he'd need a rebuild LOL...

Well let's see... First off the rebuild is going to require head gasket as well as all other gaskets, timing belt and tensioner, Bah just get the book. And expect the car to be OOC for quite a bit unless you have the tools and alot of spare time...

Ah O.K. didn't now your tensioner had so few miles... The gaskets you'll need new as they've been installed once which means they've already been crushed once. Better to be safe than sorry. Belts you MIGHT get away with depending on age and use again. Also you might want to change the thermostat as well. If you're doing a full rebuild you'll need rings for the pistons as well as a cylinder hone. (I HATE bottle brushes but they tend to be cheaper...).

Well then be careful pulling the timing belt off and you'll have to find a new water pump gasket but otherwise you can reuse everything else you just replaced. Except the obvious head gasket and water pump gasket. You MAY even be able to reuse the valve cover gasket but with most of them running around $5-$10 I'd just be safe and replace it.
