Prothane Motor Mount Insert help

Got a set of insert for my motor mounts, but I'm having trouble getting the old metal ring out of the old upper motor mount, anyone know a tech article on removal. I have a 90 gsx.

Cut the rubber would be the easiest way I'd guess... Being that you're replacing them why bother keeping the old ones in good shape?
