Real stupid question

What??? The oil jackets are not different. The 4g63t and the 4g63 are the same exact block. The turbo has oil squirters, 7.8:1 compression piston. The non turbo block has a 9:1 compression piston and no oil squirters. The rods, block and crank are all the same.
Im confused?? Is it hard to swap in a 4g63t? Im by no means a mechanic but shouldnt the 4g63t bolt right in? Or does the 4g63t use a different trans then the 4g63?
Also to turbo a non turbo is not "easy" fist the wiring harness is different as are several other things you mentioned above. Its really not worth it.
If you want to turbo your motor honestly its a waste of time and $$$. Keep your car a n/t and look for a turbo car.

well very easy, stupid easy. You can put a turbo on your motor but the oil jackets in your block are different with the 4g63t causing lower oil pressure, also your internals are weeker, the 4g63t has different cams, intake manifold desgine, injectors, ecu fuel pump, head gasket, ect. hit up a junk yard and look for a 1g gsx, gst, laser turbo, lazer turbo awd, eagel tsi, tsi awd and just yank the motor, turbo, exaust manifold, down pipe, charg piping, smic, and ecu and your in business.

So are you saying it would be hard to swap in a 4g63t? And about the smoke, its constently smoking I believe, not as bad as it was before I changed the gasket, but still a little, here is a question for ya, my air box is all jamed in there and not even bolted in plus the clamps are missing to keep it together tight so the previuos owner just has a paper clip thing in there so its no sealed tight and it was opened more on the bottom so so oil was getting sucked in from the valve cover leak. Could this just be the air filter and intake still coated in oil?? And if so how would I clean it? Couldnt I spray carb cleaner or injector cleaner in the intake while it is running? I just want to keep this motor going as long as I can, dont know how long it will take to find another motor for her or have enough money to have the motor completely rebuilt (with a couple mods...LoL) With a family of 5 I have alot of other prioritys before my ride so I have to put money away a little at a time. I am getting a set of 17's for it I am doing a stait up swap for rims and tires for my dirt bike wich is in pieces, I will post pix as soon as I get them cant wait I am sigtting on some ugly *** stock rims, here is a stupid question could I paint the stocks rims so I can use them in the winter?? There in good condition just really dull, I was thinking of painting black but didnt know if it would just chip off. Thanks for all the info, oh one more thing where could I order a new valve cover from and how much would one run me??

Well its very time consuming and can get very pricey. As for your car now, do a compression test and let us know what you find. If you need help doing it I have one you could use. Let me know.

I have a compresion gauge, the kind you screw into the spark plug holes, I just never have done one before, how hard is it to do?

Do I need to disconect anything to keep the motor from cranking?

Just remove the mpi fuse by your battery so no fuel is being dumped in to cylinders and make sure the throttle is completly open when you crank the engine over.
