Default stuttering?

yes i have jus bought a 92 eclispe gsx. ok im a newb, i have a hole in the exhaust pipe so its is making a loud noise. and i have a leak in the oil filter. the guy dint tell me what kinda oil im supposed to use? ok so now for the stuttering. i have a turbo timer set for 1 min. a mbc set at 13 psi. a BOV, tein lowering springs, hks intake, ok so when im driving the turbo will spool at 3000, but when i reach 3500-4000 it will begin to bog and then like shake/stutter. and when i finally get into 5th gear, it stutters at 75mph. so i cant go past. does anyone know what it is? thanks

Sounds like a miss in a cylinder... Try changing plugs and wires first. See what happens after the plugs and wires and an oil change is done. The oil you should use depends on the season but 10W40 should be fine for you now. Definately get that oil change done the hole in the oil filter will be fixed when it's changed with the oil change. Unless you really meant a hole in the oil pan... Now for the hole in the exhaust pipe... Well depending what size it is you MAY be able to just have someone use a welder on it. Do a small spot weld to plug it. Or there are various exhaust patches out there. They are temporary and eventually you'll need to have the pipe section that has the hole replaced (Except in the case of welding that's permanent). Just a few ideas for you. Keep us posted on what happens.

if you know somebody that works in a metal shop or somethin, it would really take no time to throw a piece of steel over the hole (assuming that it isn't enormous) and spot or arc weld it...

Thanks guys for the reply, ok well I found out its the oil filter seal which needs to be replaced, and the hole in the exhaust is actually that the straight pipe isn't welded on to the other pipes, thus making a hole or gap, sorry for the mishap, o and I'm probably going with a new exhaust system next week. Btw people say that 13psi is too much and I should turn it down, is that rite? Thanks

Nothin against that idea but spot or tack welding still leaves plenty of gaps for exhaust to make noise. And if it's big enough to have to do that then he might as well replace the chunk of pipe. If it were his florboard I'd say yeah do that but not on an exhaust.

well im using premium fuel and 13 psi.then idk. the exhaust is NOT welded together. thats why it backfires. when it backfires can it stutter?

Yeah when it backfires it could definately cause a sputter
Careful with the backfire make sure you're geting good flow. I had backfire once that actually blew the ceramic out of the spark plug (Caty clogged and exhaust pushed back into the engine LOL).

Half of the cars you'll be able to beat are going to require your skill not merely the car you have. Some cars just suck that bad LOL... Let us know what hapens after you get teh work done and we'll try going from there.
