Exclamation Tansmission Repair

Hey guys, here's the scoop...
I have a 91 Eclipse with the 4g63 N/A, 6 bolt, 5 speed, front wheel drive. The transmission is almost completely dead. It has been on its way out for over a year now, but I haven't had the money to fix it. Now it's to the point that I'm honestly scared to drive it so I'm going to have to fix it one way or the other. I would like to do a full rebuild because I love doing all the work on my car, plus my dad and one of my buddies both know how to rebuild a transmission so they can teach me. I've run into the snag of not being able to find a full rebuild kit. Does anybody know where I can order one? I would be looking for the while deal: bearings, syncros, gears, seals, the whole 9 yards. Also, with getting new gears, does anybody know where I could get different ratio gears? I race at tracks and I love my 1st and 2nd gears, but then the 3rd gear is kinda slow. I would like to get a closer 3rd gear ratio. ANY info that you guys can share would be extremely appreciated! Thanks!!

no such thing as a rebuild kit for a standard. Typically you reuse bearings if you're under 150K. Could replace input bearing. Others if noisy when running. You can reuse syncros too if they measure out okay, but usually should replace 2nd and 3rd syncros. All bearings syncros and seals if your going all out but it's not really necessary especially like diff side bearings, they never go out. 1st 4th and 5th syncros hardly ever go also.

Look at the shift dogs also, like 2nd and 3rd especially, but if they need replace might as well look for a used trans and make one good trans out of 2. Gears/dogs too expensive.

If the things really been beat sometimes the sides of the shift forks on 2nd and 3rd will be worn, again used tranny time.
